Oh, how I remember those afternoons and evenings.
First we'd spend hours to find the wool we wanted,
and then we made cinnamon tea or peppermint tea,
and we would unwind the knot of wool.
We had great talks.
Later after the first two were born,
I had to unwind the wool myself.
The wool around the back of a chair
and me winding the ball,
singing whatever came to my mind.

I've known some men who were able to knit.
Most of them worked with thick and heavy wool
knitting difficult jacquard patterns in cardigans.
One of them used a long souple "needle"
and knitting around and around,
untill he was ready. He left holes for the arms.
The girlfriend got the honour to make those,
and sow the whole cardigan together.
He sold their work for a lot of money.
